1948 D25 Dodge Special Deluxe Club Coupe
1948 D25 Club Coupe
Is it a Plymouth or a Dodge ? Beautiful and rare Dodge D25C Club Coupe owned by Robert King-Brown
Front of 1948 D25 Club Coupe
Only 4,072 Club Coupes were manufactured between 1946 -1948. Note the Plymouth P15 sheet metal including the small ridge below the headlights. All trim pieces are Dodge D24 including Dodge ram hood ornament and crest. Hood opens at the front. Robert has owned the car for over twenty years when he originally restored it. He saved the car from a local auto wrecker. Originally it was missing many parts and the motor knocked like crazy.
1948 D25 Dodge Special Deluxe Club Coupe Interior
Standard P15 Special Deluxe dash but plate above radio speaker reads "Dodge". Emblem on steering wheel hub is also Dodge. Same two tone woodgrain treatment as Plymouth P15 was originally used.
1948 D25 Dodge Special Deluxe Club Coupe Engine
Flathead is the big six with a 251 cubic inch displacement. This is the same size engine used in the U.S. DeSoto and Chrysler. Because of the lower production volume in Canada only one size engine was built by the Windsor engine plant for all Canadian models. Block length is 25-1/2 inches versus standard P15/D24 23-1/2 inch block. Also the 251 c.i. stroke and bore were different than U.S. version for the same displacement. The radiator support is reversed, moving the radiator forward two inches to accommodate the longer engine.

Thanks to Robert King-Brown and Jim Benjaminson for proving background information on the D25C.
